The PEEK&POKE Podcast
Maybe you missed that PEEK&POKE launched its own podcast from the museum? Our trial, zero episode, took place during a concert by Steven Brown from the legendary band Tuxedomoon. Although we are primarily a computer museum and those are our topics of interest, we really like to create the intersection of technology and culture, which is why we have a very diverse range of topics.
But for PEEK&POKE Podcast 001, it definitely had to be an IT topic! And it was immediately clear to us that there was an ideal person for that, the “Croatian Woz” or “Croatian Clive”, Miroslav Kocijan, creator of the first Croatian school computers Galeb and Orao.
What kind of concept did we have in mind? Most podcasts that we can follow online are formulated quite egocentrically – there is always the same host who changes interlocutors depending on the topic. Ultimately, that host becomes the “hero” of the audience, especially if he is likeable, funny and asks lucid questions. That is perfectly fine and certainly practical. However, we believe that it can be better and more interesting!
We want to turn that concept upside down and with us the guest will always be the “hero”! Our task is to choose a host according to the guest – a person who knows the given topic, who is competent in a certain domain and the best possible interviewer because he understands the topic in depth.
If the guest is an alternative musician, the interview will be hosted by an alternative musician. If it is an IT pioneer, the interview will be hosted by someone who was part of that computer revolution, if it is a distinguished astrophysicist, our host will be an exceptional astrophysicist. If it’s a top illustrator and comic book artist, he’ll be interviewed by a visual artist and writer. If it is a Japanese guest, then the interview will be hosted by someone who speaks perfect Japanese. If the topic is AI, the host will be someone who runs local AI models himself. We believe that this will give a completely new level to the conversations and make them much more interesting and useful to those interested in some of the topics we are preparing, and we are preparing a lot!
